Whoa, so much has happened!
I’ve totally neglected this little blog but I’ve been piled up with busy. In just the past 4 weeks we have
1.) closed on our first HOUSE :))))
2.) packed up and MOVED
3.) Drove 6 hours for our girls’ first family beach trip
4.) Broke our computer (rip mac )
5.) Had a broken arm scare in one, 2 days later a fever in the other, the 3 days later throwing up with the same tot… Oy vey.
6.) Had our first ULTRASOUND!
*1. It all happened pretty fast, in hindsight. One day I was literally accepting the fact I’d have 3 small kids in a small apartment and planning out ways to make the space work. I really didn’t think we’d find something doable for us in our price range. We had awful experiences with our first realtor, think, “Hey, this house is awesome… Who needs a ROOF anyway!… Aw.. just ignore the drug paraphnalia on the ground…. Yes, obviously the previous owners were hoarders, but it adds character!” UH… NO.
One night, after weeks of dumping our realtor and no house hunting, I was browsing online and came across a charming place that had JUST dropped 10k into our price range! The next day my husband went to look at it (insert new, mountain man, good realtor) and loved it. Then next day we put in an offer and the rest is history.
It’s not huge, of course, but I didn’t want something huge. It’s a renovated vintage house with the modern updates we needed but with all the same vintage charm we love. High ceilings, hardwood floors (I was about to die with toddlers and carpet.) a D I S H W A S H E R (yes, 2 kids and one one the way and I’ve never had a dishwasher… It takes effort daily not to bow before it and kiss it.) A nice little backyard and plenty of room for the kiddos to play.
I love that the girls can run and jump and scream with joy as much as they like and I don’t have to worry about neighbors thinking we live in a barn
Maybe I’ll be *that person* sometime soon and give you guys a tour
*6 Our first ultrasound turned out to be a BIT more stressful than the previous ones. For one, this is the first ultrasound tech I’ve ever had to explain to me what she was looking at. Maybe that’s a comfort to most people but to me it was a little nerve racking, “We’re looking to make sure no club foot…” ”O.O C-c-lub foot??? Are all half valves there?? No cleft lip right??” lol. Bebe is precious with the cutest profile already. The only concern was on mama’s end. I have “Placenta Prehvia” which means my placenta is lower than it’s supposed to be. IF it doesn’t move north it could mean a dreaded c-section (which would crush my natural homebirth dreams… ;( ) But hopefully it moves. Please move. Baby is beautiful… and squirmy and shy so we DON’T know the sex. I guess we’ll find out November.
Wishing you all plenty of fireflys for catching and watermelon for eating….
